<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The improvement of ultrasound diagnostics makes it possible to evaluate minor structural changes that were not previously available for reliable visualization. These include various diseases of the umbilical region, while the size of most pathological foci do not exceed 1-3 cm. Extensive experience with the neonatal contingent of patients allowed to highlight several groups of nosological forms that are rarely found in other age categories: infectious inflammatory lesions, abnormalities of umbilical ring formation, vascular and other lesions. Various echographic variants of visualization of the studied nosological forms are presented. Particular attention is paid to the imaging of infectious and inflammatory diseases that can echographically simulate cystic formations. The article is extensively illustrated and supplemented by a brief review of the literature.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>ультразвуковая диагностика</kwd><kwd>новорожденные</kwd><kwd>околопупочная область</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Ultrasonography</kwd><kwd>Newborns</kwd><kwd>Umbilical Region</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Ольхова Е.
