Bilateral Internal Carotid Artery Occlusions with the Presence of Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Strokes (Case Report and Literature Review)

Abstract

Bilateral occlusion of the internal carotid arteries is a rare pathology, which usually manifests from asymptomatic course to the development of a stroke, and often leading to death. In most of the previously described cases this condition was accompanied by ischemic stroke. We present a clinical case of bilateral occlusion of internal carotid arteries with simultaneous development of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke of the brain. The management of the patient was conservative, the patient's condition was improvement.
