Ultrasound Examination of the Chest in Newborns and Infants in the Emergency Hospital. Echographic Interstitial Pulmonary Syndrome

Abstract

Ultrasound examination of the lungs in recent years is gaining popularity. Non-invasiveness, rapidity and availability of the method determine the possibility of its use in patients of all age groups and is especially promising in newborns. At the same time, the main echographic signes observed with ultrasonography of the lungs in infants have not been studied enough, especially for interstitial pulmonary syndrome. In this study, based on an examination of more than 500 infants, the most significant and reproducible in emergency neonatology echographic signes are determined, the process of pneumatization of pulmonary tissue in the early neonatal period is studied, the degrees of severity of interstitial pulmonary syndrome are identified and its manifestations in various nosological forms are shown.
