Acute Appendicitis in Newborns. Variants of Ultrasound Presentation (Literature Review with Their Own Clinical Observations)

Abstract

Newborn acute appendicitis is an extremely rare disease, preoperative examination of which is almost always unsuccessful all over the world: the diagnosis is made based on operative or autopsy examination. Own clinical practice includes 4 cases of successful preoperative ultrasonic diagnosis of abdominal form of acute appendicitis (1 case - appendicular abscess and other 3 cases - of perforated appendix) and 15 cases of hernia Amyandmonitoring. All children were operated and recovered. Variants of visualization of the unchanged or reactively altered newborn appendix in addition to other diseases are presented. The article is supplemented by an extensive review of the literature.
