Abstract

The method of microfocal radiography of hands in patients with rheumatoid arthritis using the optimum shooting settings. A comparative analysis of the possibilities of classical radiography and developed a method to identify destructive changes in the hands of patients with early rheumatoid arthritis. The study included 30 patients with early rheumatoid arthritis (lasting less than 12 months). Among the patients there were 19 (63,3 %) women and 11 (36,7 %) men. All patients underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), classical radiography (CR) and microfocal radiography direct image magnification of 5,5 times (MFRG ×5,5) brushes. Based on MRI results were the most informative areas to find erosions in the hands with early rheumatoid arthritis (joints of the wrist, the wrist joint, metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal joints II–IV of fingers). The analysis proved the effectiveness of the use of imaging in MFRG ×5, 5 destructive changes in selected ≪areas of interest≫. So, microfocal radiography, in comparison with conventional radiography, has identified significantly more erosions (from 56,6 and 20 % of patients, respectively). Furthermore, when using the new shooting techniques increased incidence of such symptoms as cystoid bone radiolucencies (from 46,6 to 53,3 %). Also, the use MFRG ×5,5 make it possible to better differentiation of soft tissue changes in the affected joints.

Abstract

The aim of our study was evaluation of the variability of quantitative brain CT-perfusion values in group of patients (n = 72) with brachiocephalic artery steno-occlusive disease using different software for data postprocessing. Initial data of CT-perfusion in the total group of patients were subsequently processed, using three different commercial software postprocessing packages (Philips ≪sensitive≫, Philips ≪insensitive≫ and General Electric). It was revealed that the average absolute value of the perfusion parameter in the general group of patients were significantly different (p > 0,005) in case of using different commercial software packages for processing the raw data. But, a comparative correlation analysis of absolute and relative data in general group of patients showed statistically significant high correlation between the data obtained from aforesaid three software packages. As a result, we can conclude that the using of different commercial software packages, based on different versions of mathematical data postprocessing algorithm, provide a significant differences in the resulting of absolute and relative perfusion parameters, and can affect on the accuracy of the cerebral hemodynamics evaluation features in clinical practice. Such differences point to the importance of using not only the identical scanning protocols, but also identical postprocessing software.

Abstract

Aim — clarify the range of radiographic signs of delayed complications after different types of antireflux surgery (ARS) X-ray examination of the upper gastrointestinal tract (UGT). In 2013–2015 examined 67 patients who applied to the MCSC complaints after different types of ARS, conducted in medical institutions of the Russian Federation and countries in a period of 6 months to 5 years and the purpose of correction of complications ARS. The most frequent complications for each ARS were revealed. Inappropriate surgery procedures performed because of incomplete or incorrect preoperative diagnosis verification. In patients with identical complaints, after the different types of ARS, defined a wide range of radiological signs characteristic of each of the complications. X-ray examination of UGT is one of the main radiological techniques to identify complications. The main X-ray patterns of ARS complication are gastric wrap migration and gastric motility disorder.

Abstract

A rare case of combined syphilitic and tuberculous pulmonary lesions in an HIV-infected patient is presented. The possibilities of various methods of vizualisation are showen. The peculiarities of x-ray study of syphilitic lesions of the lungs are presented. A phased process of diagnosis of tuberculosis and syphilis of the lungs in HIV-infected patients is set out.
